Case Study – NW Drum Camp
Northwest Drum Camp creates an opportunity for kids and adults to learn more about the art of rudimental drumming. They came to us and asked for a complete branding package. Services we completed for the client were;
NWDC wanted to focus on simplicity in their brand. Something that would link their name to the brand itself. With that idea we came up with multiple sketches using elements from the Northwest. Rolling hills, mountains, trees, oceans, rain and other things. When we started incorporating drum ideas, one concept elevated above the rest. The simple / sharp lines of a mountain with drumsticks inset into the image iteself. Along with the bold lines in the mountains, we used a strong / unique font for the NWDC name. This helped to meld the imagery and name together to form a strong logotype. Having the web address in the logo itself helps to show what the group is without having to explain the entire concept.

For the rest of the design elements (stationery, website, etc…) we stayed with the strong and simple idea. Using the initial color scheme as a base we were able to create continuity within the brand. In order to keep elements unique, we used different forms of texture and accessory colors to help the brand “pop”.
